I remember how much I loved puffy paint when I was younger. I spent hours playing with the stuff.

Here is a fun activity that is sure to be a hit with any munchkin. I found the idea over at Mom’s Crafty Space.

What you need:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • water
  • Ziploc baggies
  • food coloring
1. Start with one cup of flour and mix in 3 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt and enough water to make it the consistency of pancake batter. Then divided your mix into four parts and put them into snack size Ziploc baggies along with some food coloring. Squish it all around to mix up the colors!

2. Rubber band the baggies like you would if you were icing a cake and snip off the teeniest little bit of the tip.

3. Paint away!

4. When you’re finished, pop the painting into the microwave for 30-45 seconds and watch the paint puff up and grow! It will be completely dry when you take it out of the microwave.
